Work Study

What is Work Study?

The work study program provides part-time employment to undergraduates and graduates to help students fund the costs of attending college. There are three different kinds of work study available at UMHB: Federal Work Study, State Work Study, and UMHB Work Duty. Each of these programs are a form of financial aid. Contact the UMHB Financial Aid office to find out more.

How much will I earn?

Earnings for the work study program are based on the current federal minimum wage. The amount of money that you earn can't exceed the total work study award listed on your financial aid award letter. On average, students in the work study program work about 13 hours per week (20 hours per week during summer). Schedules are flexible and should be worked out with your work study supervisor.
